Barbara Leader

Barbara Leader, MA, CCC-SLP is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Speech-Language Pathology. She completed her MA at Hunter College. She has held administrative, managerial and clinical positions in several medical centers in the New York metropolitan area. She teaches courses covering communication disorders across the lifespan, including developmental and acquired speech and language disorders in children, and language challenges arising from adult aphasia. She also teaches in the specialty area of voice disorders, and co-teaches on the topics of ethics and professional issues. She provides clinical supervision to graduate students at Speech and Language Partners. Barbara currently is a member of the State Advocates for Reimbursement (STARs] Committee of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association [ASHA], and is a past member of the ASHA Legislative Council. She is a Past President of the New York State Speech-Language Hearing Association, and received a Distinguished Service Award in recognition of her longstanding contributions to the Association. She was also honored as a Distinguished Alumnus by the School of Health Sciences at Hunter College. She is a co-founder of the NYC Voice Study Group.
