Dr. Aisha Traish is a clinician-educator specializing in cornea and external eye disease. After completing her Ophthalmology residency in 2009 and Cornea fellowship in 2010 at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, she joined the faculty at the University of Illinois at Chicago in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences as Assistant Professor. She received the Golden Apple Teaching Award the first two consecutive years and was asked to assume the role of Associate Residency Director. She moved in the summer of 2015 to Charlotte, North Carolina where she joined Charlotte Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat P.A. Associates, a large multispecialty ophthalmic and ENT practice where she was busy clinically and surgically with teaching focused on community providers and premedical students. She briefly joined the Chicago Cook County Hospitals System in June 2017, serving in the role of Director of Ophthalmology Fellowships and Director of Medical Student Education in the Division of Ophthalmology until returning home to Boston (Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary) in the fall of 2018 to establish a long-term practice.

I truly believe in a compassionate, team-oriented approach to care with an open dialogue between patient, physician, and any collaborators to enable accurate diagnoses and facilitate more efficient delivery of care and mutual respect. Teaching my patients about their condition and treatment options while modeling such care for residents is my ideal environment.
