At Boston Children’s, we offer specialized care for both vascular and pigmented birthmarks.
Vascular birthmarks can vary widely in presentation and complexity. Our Vascular Anomalies Center cares for more than 2,000 patients each year and brings together specialists from multiple disciplines to deliver expert diagnoses and personalized treatment plans. Clinicians from around the world often turn to us for guidance in managing these conditions.
Children with pigmented birthmarks can be referred to our Department of Plastic and Oral Surgery. Our specialists are highly experienced in evaluating and managing these skin conditions, from common benign marks to large or atypical lesions that may require monitoring or removal. The team works closely with dermatology and other experts when needed to provide comprehensive, individualized care based on each child’s unique needs.
Across our programs and services, we bring together deep expertise and thoughtful care to support children with every type of birthmark.
