In Erin's role as a family faculty member for the Institute, she utilizes her personal experiences raising and caring for her son, who has complex healthcare needs, and her professional skills working with other families. Along with her family faculty colleagues, she contributes to developing curricula and facilitating IPEP workshops.

"It is incredible to know that the conversations that I contribute to during an IPEP course have the potential to impact a family or child going through a challenging healthcare experience. It is a privilege to be a part of the IPEP team."

Erin became involved as a family faculty member during the development of the PERCS-NICU program. Erin has her Masters in Education and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Counseling and is committed to combining her personal experiences as a mother of a child with complex medical needs with her professional skills to work towards improving parent-professional relationships and the quality of healthcare for children with special healthcare needs. Previously, Erin worked for the Center for Families at Children's Hospital Boston, where she coordinated the Family Initiatives program, served as the parent co-chair of the Family Advisory Committee, and was the coordinator for the Family Faculty program.

While at Children's, Erin worked in partnership with the Coordinated Care Services (CCS) Department. She facilitated the development of a departmental Parent Advisory Board for CCS and promoted parent-professional partnerships as the CCS Family Liaison. Erin is also a founding member of TrachCare, Inc., a non-profit organization providing support and information to parents, caregivers, and healthcare providers of children who have, or previously had, a tracheostomy and is an active parent in the special needs community.
