Initiatives

New mattress toppers for trainee call rooms

The Boston Children’s Hospital Alumni Association is thrilled to announce that we have gifted new mattress toppers for the Main, Farley, and Pavilion call room beds! These new toppers will enhance the comfort and well-being of our residents and clinical fellows during their time at the hospital. We understand the importance of a good night's rest to maintain well-being and ensure the best possible care for our patients.

The Community Pediatric Award

The Community Pediatric Award is the highest award granted annually to physicians in the greater Boston Children’s community. Traditionally, it honors pediatricians whose work takes place primarily outside the walls of Boston Children’s Hospital. Boston Children’s and the Pediatric Physicians' Organization at Boston Children's Hospital (PPOC) has expanded its presence both locally and throughout Massachusetts and surrounding states, meaning we have a rich and varied group of pediatricians, locally and farther afield, who are part of our diverse and robust hospital community. Those chosen recipients, nominated by their peers, embody the Boston Children's mission of exemplary patient care, compassionate treatment of all children, commitment to innovation, or excellence in teaching.

This year’s recipients are Elisabeth DiPietro, MD, of Hyde Park Pediatrics and David Norton, MD, of Holyoke Pediatric Associates. We congratulate and commend their service and care as doctors and individuals who tirelessly serve their community in an effort to bring better pediatric care to those in the greater Boston area and abroad. Learn about the Community Pediatric Award recipients and their work.

The Susan Brooks Award

The Susan Brooks Award is given annually to a resident and a faculty or administrative staff member who has shown exemplary services to his or her patients, colleagues, and the Boston Combined Residency Program community, and is the utmost example of service leadership within the residency program, just as Susan was for so many years.

This year’s recipients are Robert Daulton, MD, and Mollie Wasserman, MD. We congratulate and commend their service! Learn about the Susan Brooks Award recipients and their work.

We are grateful for alumni like you and for your history with Boston Children's Hospital.

Despite the unprecedented challenges of recent years, Boston Children's remains among the nation’s premier pediatric institutions for healing and learning, and that’s in large part due to your generosity. Our Alumni Association is much more than a means to stay connected with colleagues. Together, we are providing a bright future for Boston Children’s and the kids in our care.

Your membership renewal will fund social events to support wellness for residents and help sponsor events like the annual Blackfan lecture. In addition, your support helps to provide annual Travel Grants for residents and fellows, assist with hospital renovations and facility initiatives, and much more.

Boston Children’s Hospital’s Alumni Association has provided students and faculty with learning and financial opportunities for more than 100 years. Please keep this tradition alive by renewing your membership today.
