After surgery
On the day of discharge, plan on leaving the hospital by 11 a.m. Your child's doctor and nurses will go over the discharge plan with you and provide any necessary instructions so that you feel comfortable caring for your child at home. Instructions will be given to you regarding dressing care, post operative medications, mobility and/or physical therapy prior to discharge.
Before you leave Boston Children’s, please schedule a follow-up visit with your orthopedic surgeon if one has not already been scheduled. Your physician will provide you information regarding the timing of the follow-up visit prior to your departure.
