Wildfires | Overview

Wildfires are all too common in some areas of the United States. Children are more susceptible to the wildfire smoke and ash than adults because their lungs are still developing. In addition, children breathe more per minute than adults, increasing their exposure. Children with asthma and other respiratory diseases are even more vulnerable to the health effects from wildfires.
