The overarching research mission of the Division is: to focus on a) elucidating the neural, biological and behavioral mechanisms that underlie various neurodevelopmental disorders in order to identify targets for intervention (and prevention), b) the development of tools that facilitate early identification of various disorders (e.g., autism, dyslexia), and c) conducting clinical research designed to improve the outcome of children with various neurodevelopmental disorders.

A secondary mission is to understand how early adverse life experiences “get under the skin” to lead children down a path of atypical development (including various behavior, emotion and neurodevelopmental disorders).
