The Boston Children’s Hospital z-score system is based on data gathered over the past 12 years on normal children, using methods described in references 1 & 2. The height, weight, and BMI regressions are based on the downloadable files available from the CDC and WHO. The echocardiographic z-scores are periodically updated and new regressions are made available and deployed in this system as they become available. Additional information can be obtained by contacting Dr. Steven Colan by email at colan@alum.mit.edu.

We are grateful to have been ranked #1 on U.S. News & World Report's list of the best children's hospitals in the nation for the third year in a row, an honor we could not have achieved without the patients and families who inspire us to do our very best for them. Thanks to you, Boston Children's is a place where we can write the greatest children's stories ever told.”
