COVID-19 Testing Sites
Boston Children’s Health Physicians is pleased to offer rapid COVID-19 testing with same day results to patients.
If your child develops a fever or other symptoms that could potentially be indicative of COVID-19, their pediatrician may choose to perform a COVID-19 test. It can be extremely difficult to determine if symptoms are due to COVID-19 or other common infections, especially in children. Most BCHP primary care practices now offer rapid COVID-19 testing, which provides results in 15 minutes or less. Unlike the rapid antigen test, the rapid tests we are performing use PCR technology and do not typically require an additional send out test if results are negative. Obtaining the information so quickly can help providers, schools, and communities make decisions that affect patient care and public health in real-time. Regardless of COVID-19 test results, we all must continue to take steps to protect ourselves and others. Quarantine if advised, wear a mask, wash your hands often, stay 6 feet from others, and stay home when you are feeling sick.
