It saddens us to announce that one of the co-founders of Pediatric Health Care Associates P.C. is retiring. Doctor Richard Lipman has decided to open a new chapter in his life and begin his retirement. He will begin his new journey as of the end of December 2019. All of us here at PHCA wish him a long and enjoyable retirement. Congratulations Dr. Lipman, you will be missed!

Retirement Notice for My Patients
It’s been 50 years since I joined Dr. William Silverman in pediatric practice in July 1969 in a small office in West Peabody. With the subsequent addition of Dr. Kanarek, we adopted the name Pediatric Health Care Associates and proceeded to grow, being noted for the quality of our medical practice and concern for our patients. Thanks to the addition of outstanding providers and staff, as well as thanks to our loyal and varied group of patients, now in its third generation, it has been a wonderful, gratifying and productive 50 years. We have lived through the introduction of CT scans, MRI, ultrasound, electronic calculators, computers and the internet, and vaccines for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, HIB, pneumococcus, rotavirus, and meningococcus. Our antibiotics were originally limited to a very few, some of which were rather toxic, and lab testing was primitive and mostly done by hand. Now, at the 50-year mark, I feel that it is time to take a step back and retire from active medical practice, effective on the last day of this year. Medical practice has never ceased to be an exciting, innovative, gratifying occupation. What a privilege to have been a small part of it and to have had such a fine group of patients and associates along the way! I have learned so much from you and feel honored to have had your confidence and to have been a part of your families. Please be assured that your medical care will remain in the excellent hands of our other providers at PHCA. I have great confidence in them. I wish you good health and happiness. I shall really miss you!
