The PHCA team would like to make a public statement regarding valued feedback we have been receiving over the past weeks. We hear equal amounts of frustration and gratitude. Behind the scenes, we are doing the very best we can with the resources we have at hand. Patience, compassion and kindness help us to do our jobs better. When those qualities are shared in both directions, everyone benefits. Our office staff are working tirelessly to return calls and support patient requests as quickly as they can and to the best of their ability, all in the face or increased call volume, limited appointment availability and staffing shortages.
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed every aspect of the delivery of healthcare. We are working harder than ever to provide the level of service that our families require. Our nurses spend their days and nights helping our sickest patients and families to get the care they urgently need. Our office staff are shouldering anger and frustration for challenges that they do not have any control over. Appointment shortages are unfortunately the new normal despite all of our best efforts. We have had to rely on support from our local urgent care centers and emergency rooms more than we would like. It has always taken a village to provide care to our families, but currently more patients are sick and in need of help than ever before. This means we have to strengthen our community and find new ways to help each other.
It is a lot to ask, but we need your continued patience and kindness as we navigate this new normal. Please be kind and respectful to our staff who continue to show up and work through this crisis. We are here to help.
We are pleased about the recent emergency approval by the FDA of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 6 months to 4 years. We have the Pfizer vaccine available and are confident that we can vaccinate this age group in a timely manner. Appointments for the vaccine clinic are available to be booked via MyChart.
More information about the COVID-19 vaccine for younger children can be found here.

MyChart - PHCA's Patient Portal
We encourage every patient and family at PHCA to open and keep active a MyChart Patient Portal account. MyChart offers you online access to your medical information as well as a direct line of communication with PHCA staff and providers. With MyChart, you get the convenience of online appointment scheduling and online bill pay. You can request medication refills, as well as print out health forms and immunization records on your own, without having to contact or come into the office. Before your well visit, complete any forms such as required developmental and behavioral screens, which saves time, and allows you more time with your provider to get your questions answered. Review lab results directly and receive follow up recommendations from your provider based on those results.
If you’re not yet active on MyChart, speak with any PHCA staff member during your next visit, and we can get you registered! MyChart can be accessed through any web browser, as well as via the MyChart App on iPhone and Android devices (**choose PPOC-Pediatric Physicians of Childrens when doing first time set up of the mobile app**).
