Immunization policy

Immunizations are one of the most important advances in pediatric health care. They have dramatically reduced illness and death in children and continue to be one of the most valuable and effective protections that parents can offer their children from early infancy.

The healthcare team at Hyde Park Pediatrics believes that one of our most important duties in caring for your child is to follow the immunization schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Centers for Disease Control. We feel very strongly that children should be immunized according to the schedule recommended by these organizations, because this schedule provides the highest possible protection against serious and often life-threatening illness.

We believe that it is also our responsibility to keep our community free of potentially life-threatening infectious diseases whenever possible. Being sure that all our patients are uniformly immunized helps to accomplish this ethical obligation.

Please note that we strictly adhere to the recommended guidelines. Our practice is not a good fit for families who do not intend to follow the recommended guidelines for routine immunizations.

We are happy to answer any questions that you have about vaccine preventable illnesses and your child’s vaccine schedule.
