Immunization policy
Immunizations are one of the most important advances in pediatric health care. They have dramatically reduced illness and death in children and continue to be one of the most valuable and effective protections that parents can offer their children from early infancy.
The healthcare team at Hyde Park Pediatrics believes that one of our most important duties in caring for your child is to follow the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the national Centers for Disease Control regarding immunizations. We feel very strongly that children should be immunized according to the schedule recommended by these organizations because it provides the highest possible protection against serious and often life-threatening illness.
Another part of our responsibility is keeping our community free of potentially life-threatening infectious diseases whenever possible. Being sure that all of our patients are uniformly immunized helps to accomplish this ethical obligation.
We are happy to answer any questions that you have about vaccine preventable illnesses and your child’s vaccine schedule.
