Nutrition consultation
Karen McGrail, MEd, RDN, LDN has been providing nutrition consultation at Framingham Pediatrics since 2003. She has been a registered dietitian for over 30 years, specializing in pediatric nutrition. Karen worked at Massachusetts General Hospital for the first ten years of her career and then at MetroWest Medical Center for eight years. Karen has been an adjunct faculty member in the Food and Nutrition program at Framingham State University (FSU) since 1999, and is also the Director of the John C. Stalker Institute of Food and Nutrition at FSU.
Karen works with a variety of nutritional issues, including (but not limited to):
- Food allergies
- Failure to thrive
- Nutritional concerns related to prematurity
- Developmental disabilities
- Feeding and eating disorders
- Tube feedings and specialized formulas
- Overweight
- Vegetarian
- Constipation
- Elevated cholesterol
