Alena Ashenberg MD, Pediatrics

Associated with Boston Children's Hospital

Top patient experience in the state by MHQP

Our office hours during COVID-19 are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 8am to 5pm; Tuesday and Saturday from 8 am – 12pm.

We provide care for all our patients of all ages for routine preventive health maintenance visits and sick visits and you can book these now.

Most health maintenance visits are seen in the morning hours and in a separate part of the office.  Visits for illnesses are seen in the afternoon in a separate part of the office.

We ask that you call upon arrival to the parking lot so we can direct you to the appropriate exam room. We do not use the waiting room.

We follow the Department of Public Health guidelines and space the visits to prevent people meeting in the office. We clean all room surfaces after each patient is seen.

Many visits are available through  a convenient Telehealth connection if desired.

Our practice is a solo practice in Dracut, an easy drive from Lowell, Chelmsford, Andover, Tyngsboro and Southern New Hampshire. I see all of my patients consistently for both sick visits and health maintenance visits. I also take care of any after hour emergencies they may have during the week, and have 24/7 coverage on weekends and holidays by myself or occasionally another pediatrician.

As a result, I get to know my patients and their parents very well. I stay in close contact when they get sick and remain in touch until they are well again.

Knowing you can speak with your child’s doctor anytime for an emergency, decreases the stress of dealing with a child’s illness, and improves the safety and the quality of care. The office is open 6 days a week as well as morning appointments on Saturdays. We have a large waiting room and two small private rooms, which are used solely to prevent infection transmission when necessary.

I admit patients locally to Lowell General Hospital and use Boston Children’s Hospital for more complicated problems. Did you know that by coming to our practice and having me as your child’s pediatrician, your child is also able to use Boston Children’s Hospital for specialty care and for emergencies, as opposed to another Boston hospital? We are unique in that regard in this area and with me as your child’s pediatrician, there are no restrictions or “gate keepers” to prevent you from using this wonderful hospital.

If you want personal, friendly care, from an experienced pediatrician, the same at each visit, who is associated with Boston Children’s Hospital, along with a friendly office staff, who will know you and your child by name, come and see us.

Prenatal consults are always available at no charge and new patients are welcome! Call today, 978-957-4300.
