#1 Children’s Hospital by U.S. News & World Report
Widely considered the leading publisher of hospital rankings, U.S. News & World Report has ranked Boston Children’s the #1 pediatric hospital in the nation — for seven years in a row. U.S. News & World Report's hospital rankings are based on a wide range of factors, including reputation among pediatric specialists, medical outcomes, and care-related indicators of quality, such as nurse staffing and the availability of specialized services.
Magnet Recognition by ANCC
For the fifth year in a row, Boston Children’s Hospital achieved Magnet Recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). We are one of only a handful of hospitals in the country — eight percent — to achieve this status. Magnet status signifies an organization with world-class nursing that provides quality patient care and has a track record of developing innovations that improve professional nursing practice.
LGBTQ Healthcare Equality Leader by HEI
For the fifth year in a row, Boston Children's was selected as a Leader in LGBTQ Healthcare Equality by Healthcare Equality Index (HEI). The 406 U.S. health care facilities awarded this title met key criteria, including patient and employee non-discrimination policies that specifically mention sexual orientation and gender identity, a guarantee of equal visitation for same-sex partners and parents, and transgender-inclusive healthcare benefits for employees.
Emergency Nurses Association’s Lantern Award
Becker’s Hospital Review recognized Boston Children’s as one of 19 emergency departments across the U.S. to receive the 2018-2020 Emergency Nurses Association’s Lantern Award, which honors EDs that demonstrate excellent performance in leadership, practice, education, advocacy and research.

The Practice Transition Accreditation Program is widely viewed as the highest standard for residency or fellowship programs that transition registered nurses (RNs) and advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) into new professional practice settings.
