Julee Bolg, RN, MS, MBA, has been named executive director of satellite clinical operations, and Jane Venti has been named executive director of satellite administrative operations. The two have been sharing directorship of the Waltham satellite since last fall. They will continue to operate out of Waltham, though their responsibilities will cover all Children's Hospital Boston satellites, including the opening of the new Peabody center in January and the expanded services in the South Shore's new Stetson Building, also in January.
Man Wai Ng, DDS, MPH, dentist-in-chief, was recently selected by the Boston Business Journal as one of their Champions in Health Care for 2010. Dr. Ng was selected under the category of "Innovator" for her work in developing prevention-focused treatments for advanced dental disease in very young children, specifically early childhood caries.
Alan Leichtner, MD, FAAP, associate chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and Nutrition, and director of the Center for Celiac Disease, will receive the 2010 Murray Davidson Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics for his leadership within the field of pediatric gastroenterology, particularly with respect to clinical research in inflammatory bowel disease and celiac disease.
Leonard A. Rappaport, MD, MS, chief of Developmental Medicine, will receive the 2010 C. Anderson Aldrich Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics, honoring physicians who have made outstanding contributions to the field of child development.
Shari Nethersole, MD, assistant in Medicine in the Children's Hospital Primary Care Center, was recently honored by South End Community Health Center for her commitment to community health and her work to address the challenge of childhood obesity.
Dorothy Beke, RN, MS, CPNP, clinical nurse specialist in Children's Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU), received a 2010 Circle of Excellence Award from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.
