William Harmon, MD, chief of Nephrology, received the American Society of Transplantation (AST) Senior Achievement Award in Clinical Transplantation for the originality, innovation and commitment he brings to AST and the field of transplantation.
Benjamin Warf, MD, has joined Children’s Department of Neurosurgery as a pediatric neurosurgeon. He began his career at Children’s in 1991 as the first pediatric fellow in Neurological Surgery. His combined endoscopic third ventriculostomy and choroid plexus cauterization technique for the primary treatment of hydrocephalus in infants has been adopted around the world and will hopefully lead to the avoidance of shunt-dependence in the majority of children.
James Pert, MD, of Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates in Medford, has received the Community Pediatrician Award from Children’s. The award honorees are pediatricians who best represent the level of personalized and quality care provided at private pediatric practices and community health centers throughout greater Boston.
