New face, new place for Neurosurgery

Children's Hospital Boston's Department of Neurosurgery is pleased to welcome Edward Smith, MD. Dr. Smith attended Columbia University Medical School and completed his internship and residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. He recently concluded his fellowship at Children's. Dr. Smith specializes in brain tumors, neurovascular disorders and neuro-endoscopic procedures.

We are also pleased to announce that the Neurosurgery Department will now be seeing patients at Children's Hospital at Peabody. Dr. Smith and Mark Proctor, MD, will rotate monthly at this new office at Lahey Clinic North. Dr. Proctor has been a staff member since 1998, and specializes in complex spine and craniofacial disorders. Neurosurgeon-in-Chief R. Michael Scott, MD, stated, "I know Ed's skills will complement our current staff, and our presence in Peabody will help increase access to patients, families and referring pediatricians on the North Shore."
