Because of the imaging challenges, surprisingly little is known about the brains of babies under age 2. P. Ellen Grant, MD, PhD, founder of Children's new research center for fetal-neonatal neuroimaging and developmental science, is working to bring advanced brain imaging into routine clinical care. The new center will be the first with advanced imaging modalities, scaled to infants, located near a hospital intensive care unit.
