June 27 is National HIV Testing Day. The Boston HAPPENS Program, part of the Division of Adolescent/Young Adult Medicine at Children's Hospital Boston, has helped thousands of HIV-infected, homeless and at-risk adolescents and young adults. As one of the most successful programs in the region since its inception in 1993, it offers free and confidential HIV testing and counseling to teens and young adults, ages 12 to 24. World Asthma Day Breathing easier
In celebration of World Asthma Day, Children's Hospital Boston hosted its Community Health Fair on Wednesday, May 10, in the Patient Entertainment Center. The day combined activities that inform and entertain for children with asthma and their families. Children's nurses, the American Lung Association, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Allergy Foundation provided information and interactive demos on relevant medications and delivery devices. Community Asthma Programs Manager Amy Burack, RN, MA, AE-C, and Beth Klements, MS, APRN, BC, from Children's Healthy Link Asthma Program, co-chaired the event.

STEP Webcast
Watch Tom Jaksic, MD, PhD, surgical director of Children's Hospital Boston's Short Bowel Syndrome (SBS) Program perform a serial transverse enteroplasty (STEP) bowel lengthening and tapering procedure on a patient with SBS.
