Children's then and now

In the early 1900s, Children's Hospital Boston's operating rooms, like the one pictured, were just beginning to see technologies like anesthesia, antisepsis and X-ray that are so common in surgery today. Now, the hospital is ushering in the new MR-OR, a first-of-its kind technology being used in the United States.

Take a look at how far technology has come at Children's through the new book—Images of America: Children's Hospital Boston. The book presents a visual tour of the history and development of the hospital, while reflecting the history of pediatrics in America. To purchase a copy, visit www.arcadiapublishing.com.
