In November 2005, the American Heart Association released new CPR guidelines. They now recommend that all single rescuers employ a chest compression-to-breath ratio of 30:2 on all victims from infants (excluding newborns) to adults, aiming for increased blood flow to the heart, brain and other vital organs.
