Main South opens for business
Main South, Children's Hospital Boston's new clinical building expansion, officially opened for business on Wednesday, June 29, with patients being moved to the new units throughout the day.
Designated the Upper Phase of the project, the completed space is now occupied by the Cardiac Catheterization and Echocardiogram Labs, Cardiac MRI Service, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU), Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU), Medicine Patient Services and Transplant.
The Lower Phase move is scheduled for August 15, 2005. It includes Emergency Department administrative and support space, Radiology administrative space, Interventional Radiology and new surgical suite space. There will be additional relocations of a number of patient clinical areas and support services throughout the next two years.
