After months of discussion, Children's Hospital Boston announced an innovative partnership with Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts-New England Medical Center that will enable the hospitals to work collaboratively to expand access to the highest quality pediatric care.

"Children's mission is to improve the health of children—be it through clinical care, research or training," says President and CEO James Mandell, MD. "Collaboration between the medical staffs of our two hospitals will lead to better care and the development of improved protocols and practices."

There are several successful clinical collaborations already in place, including a relationship in Critical Care, where Children's intensive care physicians cover the intensive care unit at the Floating, and in Neurology, where Children's neurologists cover and oversee the Pediatric Neurology training program at the Floating. Children's will also continue to provide specialized transport services to Floating patients where appropriate. Additional collaborations are planned for Cardiology and Gastroenterology.
