Richard Jonas, MD, cardiovascular surgeon-in-chief, was elected vice president of the American Association of Thoracic Surgery at the organization’s annual meeting in May. Dr. Jonas will serve a three-year leadership progression as vice president, president elect and president. The association represents about 4,000 cardiothoracic surgeons in the United States many others abroad.
