Wendy Warring, JD, recently joined Children’s Hospital Boston as our first senior vice president of Network Development. Warring will be responsible for partnering with physician leadership to strengthen hospital and physician relationships with primary care physicians and physician groups, community hospitals, other New England pediatric tertiary programs and payers across the region.


Naomi Fried, PhD, joined Children’s as our first-ever chief innovation officer. Dr. Fried will be responsible for assembling and leading a group of clinicians and staff to promote technological, clinical process and business model innovation across the institution.

 


David Nathan, MD, former physician-in-chief, received an honorary Doctor of Science degree from Harvard Medical School last month during HMS’s 359th commencement exercises.

Harvard Medical School recently announced its Excellence in Mentoring Awards. John B. Mulliken, MD, co-director of the Vascular Anomalies Center, received the prestigious William Silen Lifetime Achievement in Mentoring Award. Wanda Phipatanakul, MD, MS, assistant in medicine in Allergy/Immunology, and Mark Puder, MD, PhD, associate in Surgery, received Young Mentor Awards.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Ludwik Szymanski, MD, director emeritus of Psychiatry in the University Center of Developmental Disabilities at Children’s, was selected as the recipient of the first Leon Eisenberg Award in Developmental Psychiatry. The award will be given annually to honor an individual’s lifetime of stewardship in care, research, and professional education in child mental health and developmental disorders.


David L. Coulter, MD, senior associate in Neurology, has been named as the recipient of the 2010 Leadership Award of the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.




The Children’s Medical Staff Organization named George A. Taylor, MD, the first recipient of the Medical Staff Recognition Award. The award will be given annually to an individual from the Children’s community who has provided distinguished service to the medical staff in enhancing the care of our patients.
