Announcements Spring 2016
We are delighted to announce that Tal Geva, MD, will be Boston Children's Hospital's next Chief of the Department of Cardiology. His new role will start on July 1, 2016.
Dr. Geva has a truly global perspective with training in Israel as well as here at Harvard University. Prior to his current service to Boston Children's as Senior Associate in Cardiology, and Chief of the Division of Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging, Dr. Geva was a key contributor to the Cardiology program at Texas Children's Hospital. He has been an inspiring mentor to dozens of faculty who are widely published, including several who have gone on to become division chiefs and laboratory directors in leading institutions worldwide.
Dr. Geva’s major clinical and research interests lie in non-invasive diagnostic imaging of congenital heart disease, quantitative analysis of flow and cardiac function by magnetic resonance imaging, morphogenesis of congenital heart disease and diagnostic errors and quality improvement in pediatric echocardiography. His work has helped lead Boston Children’s Heart Center in developing expertise and new innovative approaches in these areas. On the national level, Dr. Geva has served in key leadership positions in several organizations, including the American Society of Echocardiography.
Our deepest thanks are extended to James Lock, MD, for his many years of service as Chief of Cardiology and his unwavering commitment to our patients, their families and our mission of improving care for children everywhere.
