Flower John V. Frangioni, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Frangioni is Co-Director of the Center for Molecular Imaging and of the Longwood Small Animal Imaging Facility, both of which are at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He is a Professor of Medicine as well as a Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School.

Interests:
Molecular imaging; development of novel medical devices and disease-specific contrast agents for diagnosing and treating cancer; FLARETM and mini-FLARETM intraoperative near-infrared fluorescence imaging systems, which use invisible light to find tumors, blood vessels, and nerves during surgery; cancer- and disease-specific contrast agents for use with FLARETM; breast cancer sentinel lymph node mapping, lung cancer sentinel lymph node mapping, and breast cancer reconstructive surgery; development of cancer-specific radiotracers for positron emission tomography.
