The Joint Program in Nuclear Medicine (JPNM) is a collaborative effort among a core of Harvard Medical School-affiliated teaching hospitals including Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Children's Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, , and the VA Boston Healthcare System. Responsibility for all aspects of the JPNM's operation is through the radiology departments at each of the member hospitals. Common interests which have brought Program members together beginning in 1971 include a dedication to:
- the advancement of nuclear medicine as a clinical specialty and the improvement in the quality of its practice and delivery to patients;
- leadership in the basic training and continuing education of physicians and other health care professionals;
- the evaluation of new technologies and their transfer into clinical use.?
