The main focus of our research is to delineate the underlying molecular mechanisms by which type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance develop in obesity and also understand the cause of obesity. We are dedicated to understanding the insulin signaling pathways and identifying key metabolic molecules that determines the cell's faith and leads to pathophysiology in obesity. Our current work is mainly focused on understanding the role of BRD7 in glucose metabolism and ER homeostasis. The ultimate goal of our research is to identify a therapeutic target for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity.
