Research Overview:

Dr. Mar is instructor in the division of pediatric hematology/oncology at Boston Children’s Hospital and Dana Farber, where he spends 20 percent of his time in clinic, and the remainder working in lab. He studies the genetics of acute leukemia with a particular focus on the involvement of epigenetic factors in leukemia. He's using next generation sequencing of clinical samples to identify recurrent somatic mutations in acute leukemia, and use mouse models to study the biology of these mutations and their importance in leukemia.
