Research Overview

My research interest is in post-operative pain management. More specifically, I focus on caudal and epidural nerve blocks, local anesthetics and adjunct medications such as clonidine. I was co-investigator in a study assessing the safety profile of long-acting local anesthetic neosaxitoxin alone and in combination with bupivacaine. The results of this study has been presented at the annual meeting of American Society of Anesthesiologist on October 11, 2014 (abstract A1077). My current project is on the investigation of intravenous lidocaine in the prevention of post-extubation laryngospasm. I am also involved in developing databases for post-operative pain management of patients receiving regional blocks for select procedures.
