Research Overview

My primary academic focus is in the area of teaching and educational leadership. My primary role is as program director for the pediatric critical care fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital. In this role, I lead the largest pediatric critical care fellowship in the United States and oversee all educational activities for the fellows in the program. This includes training clinical, research, teaching and leadership domains. I have developed numerous curricula for the fellowship and have served as the primary educator for many of these activities. I have also established and lead the administrative and committee structure for the fellowship program. Additionally, I serve as the Director of Graduate Medical Education in the Division of Critical Care Medicine where I oversee the activities of all other graduate medical trainees including residents and rotating fellows. In these roles I have begun research activities looking at the pediatric critical care training environment including training and workforce evaluations.
