Children with orthopedic conditions were common in the hospital, and Dr. Legg and many other prominent orthopedic surgeons followed in the footsteps of Dr. Bradford in pioneering orthopedic treatment. Dr. Legg's career as the director of the orthopedic clinic helped promote new treatments for orthopedic diseases, and he is remembered as one of the giants in treating children with polio.
