Hearts were implanted with tissue made with skeletal muscle cells and collagen to provide an electrical connection between atria (shown on right) and ventricles (shown of left) chambers. The cardiac cells can be identified by red plus green staining, while the implanted cells only stain green. The nuclei are stained blue.
