Find a Clinical Trial
Principal Investigator:Lynda Schneider
Trial Description:We are interested in studying genetic and environmental risk factors which predispose children to developing atopic dermatitis. We hope this will ultimately lead to earlier diagnosis of this condition and more effective treatments.
Recruitment Info:This study is a joint project of the Immunology Division and the Program in Genomics at Childrens Hospital Boston. Children who are currently followed for atopic dermatitis in the Allergy clinic, Dermatology clinic or Atopic Dermatitis Center as well as their parent(s) and/or sibling(s) are eligible to enroll in the study. Participation in the study requires a one-time research visit which is scheduled the same day as an Allergy /Dermatology/Atopic Dermatitis Center clinic visit. We ask questions about participants medical and family histories. All participants will be asked to provide a saliva sample for genetic studies. If participants are already scheduled for a clinical blood draw the day of the visit, we will also request a blood sample for additional genetic studies. The research visit will take about 1 hour to complete. There is no cost to participate in the study and we provide a parking pass to cover the cost of parking for the day.
