Principal Investigator:Amy Roberts
Trial Description:We are interested in better understanding the genetic factors that influence the development of congenital heart disease. We hope new knowledge from this research will lead to better ways of diagnosing and treating children and families affected by these conditions.
Recruitment Info:This study is a joint project of the Cardiology Department and the Program in Genomics of Children's Hospital. Children who have congenital heart disease, their parent(s), and brothers/sisters, if available, are eligible to enroll in the study. Participation in the study requires a one-time research visit, (this can be on the same day as the clinical appointment in the Cardiology Clinic at Children's Hospital Boston). We ask questions about the medical and family histories of participants. A saliva (or spit) sample is obtained from participating children. Parent(s) and brothers/sisters, if available, also provide saliva samples. The research visit takes about 1 hour to complete. There is no cost to participate and we provide a parking pass to cover the cost of parking for the day.
