Research Experience
- Undergraduate experience: Transduction and Identification of the DNA Sequence for Recombinant Bacterial Species Used in Industrial Spills.
- Medical School experience: Primary Research with Dr. James Fick in the Department of Neurosurgery at the Medical College of Georgia dealing with the bystander effect to induce cell death in meningioma tumor cells using the tyrosine kinase model of experimentation. (1997-1999)
- Tissue Engineering with Dr. Joseph Madsen and Dr. Anthony Atala at Children’s Hospital Boston. Development of a living subgaleal shunt. (2003-present)
- Characterization of a mouse model of Hydrocephalus caused by HB-EGF in transduced mice under the supervision of Dr. Joseph Madsen, Children's Hospital Boston. (2003-present )
- The characterization of pulsatile pressure waveforms in the circulation of CSF and its effects on head injury and hydrocephalus supervised by Dr. Madsen.
- MRI imaging techniques to evaluate pulsatile pressure waves within the cranial vault to provide noninvasive monitoring of shunt function.
- In vitro culture of arachnoid cells.
