The registry is a way to connect individuals, including parents, children, hospital employees or other individuals from the community, who may be interested in participating in clinical research studies, with researchers at the hospital.
What type of volunteers is Children's looking for?
Healthy children and adults
Children with medical diseases
Children with behavioral disorders
Will I automatically be entered into a research study?
Entering the registry does not automatically enter you into a study. Children's researchers review your information, and if you or your child is potentially eligible, a researcher may contact you to discuss the study and possible participation.
What do research volunteers do?
Some research volunteers help researchers test:
new drugs
medical devices
medical procedures
behavioral interventions
Other volunteers help researchers learn:
how the body works
how certain diseases and disorders affect the body
How does a research volunteer help?
Research volunteers help doctors improve medical and behavioral care for patients and help prevent persons from getting a disease or its complications.
What if I do not want to participate in a particular study?
You decide whether or not you or your child would like to participate. At any time, you can decide not to participate in a research study, or you can remove yourself from the registry and we will no longer have access to your information.
