Research Overview

I am an electrical engineer with expertise in medical image processing. My research at the Computational Radiology Laboratory at Boston Children’s Hospital is focused on motion-robust super-resolution image reconstruction with applications in fetal and pediatric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Through novel technology development in this area we aim at in-vivo analysis of brain development, neurodevelopmental disorders, brain functional and structural connectivity, and a wide range of congenital anomalies. My research interests lie in the broad area of signal, image, and information processing with emphasis on biomedical applications.

About Ali Gholipour

Ali Gholipour is an Assistant Professor in Radiology at Harvard Medical School, and a member of the Computational Radiology Laboratory (CRL) at Boston Children's Hospital. He received a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science of the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) in 2008, and the M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees both in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tehran (UT), in 2003 and 2001, respectively. During his PhD he collaborated with the Neuroradiology division at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where he conducted research on medical imaging, in particular on the development of new techniques for enhanced brain functional localization. His earlier research work involved robotics, system identification and control, and intelligent prediction of complex systems.
