Medical Language Specialist
David is a Data Manager in Informatics here in the CHIP-NLP (Children’s Hospital Informatics Program-Natural Language Processing) group. The Data Manager abstracts relevant information from electronic medical records for studies supported by the Clinical Research Program. David assists research biostatisticians with analysis creation and statistical analyses. He supports clinical research reporting for data review, quality control checks, interim and final analysis. David also designs, develops and validates databases using application software suitable for supporting clinical research investigations, including large relational databases and web-based systems. David provides educational support and training to investigators and study staff for the development and implementation of research studies.
David started at Children’s Hospital in November, 2010 with extensive experience as an ICD-9-CM coder and Medical Record Management.
David has a BS in Health Administration from Northeastern University, with RHIA certification and is a member of the American Health Information Management Association.
