The faculty of the Division of Gastroenterology and Nutrition at Boston Children's Hospital provides general and subspecialty care to patients presenting with a full range of gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and nutritional problems. Children's is one of the foremost pediatric gastroenterology programs in the world and a destination for many patients and families seeking additional information about the diagnosis and management of illness.   Centers-of-excellence have therefore been established including the Center for Inflammatory Bowel Disease, the Center for Childhood Liver Disease, the Motility Program, the Therapeutic Endoscopy Program, and Clinical Nutrition.  These specialized programs within the Division enable us to provide cutting-edge clinical care, enable fellows to benefit from concentrated training within a particular discipline, and facilitate the integration of basic and translational research into clinical practice.

Administration for the Fellowship is based in both the GI Cell and Developmental Biology Laboratories and in the Pediatric GI and Nutrition Division at Boston Children's Hospital. As such, trainees have ready access to both clinical and laboratory resources.

Boston Children's Hospital is located directly adjacent to the Harvard Medical School campus. In addition, within a few square blocks of the hospital can be found a remarkably dense concentration of research facilities including Harvard School of Public Health, Countway Medical Library, and over 20 Harvard-affiliated hospitals and research institutes including Harvard Institutes of Medicine, Dana-Farber Cancer Center, Joslin Diabetes Research Center, and Center for Blood Research. The proximity of these programs and institutes promotes unparalleled opportunities for cross-fertilization and inter-departmental collaboration.

Shuttle buses connect the medical school campus and Harvard University's main campus in Cambridge and run every 30 min.
