Izabela Leahy, MS, BSN, RN

Executive Director for the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine
Izabela began her carrier at Boston Children’s Hospital in 1987, after earning her B.S. in Nursing at Boston College. She worked as a staff nurse on the medical service ward and in Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). While working in CICU she earned M.S in Administration from Boston College. In 2006, Izabela worked as a Clinical Coordinator for the Martha Eliot Health Center (MEHC). In 2009, Izabela was hired by Dr. Paul Hickey as a Quality Improvement Manager for the Department. Recognized as a high-potential administrator, Izabela was asked to develop a research unit for the department in 2009. Since 2012, Izabela has served as the Executive Director for Anesthesia.
As the Executive Director for the Department Izabela integrates the practices and the priorities of the anesthesia department into the larger mission of the BCH. Izabela’s activities represent innovation and advancement in three distinct areas: Operations, Quality Improvement, Research.
Amanda Baier, MPH
PACaRI Program Manager
Amanda joined Boston Children’s as a Clinical Research Coordinator for the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine in November of 2013, shortly after receiving her MPH in Health Policy from The George Washington University School of Public Health. In addition to managing the Pediatric Anesthesia Clinical and Research Internship Program, she also coordinates the Department’s Quality Improvement Program, focusing on enhancing patient safety, improving outcomes, while increasing practice efficiency and efficacy.
