The Hirschhorn Laboratory applies genetic, computational, and genomic methods to study the genetics of human height, weight and other polygenic traits and diseases (including asthma and diabetic kidney disesase) that are influenced by multiple genetic and nongenetic factors. Members of the lab also use population genetic and computational approaches to develop and implement improved methods for studying the genetics of common diseases and complex traits.  We are also recruiting and studying patients from Children’s Hospital for studies of childhood growth and of asthma.
