The Simulator Program at Boston Children's Hospital has a diverse group of mannequins and trainers to accommodate a wide range of scenarios.  These scenarios can be anything from basic competency training in our own lab (located in the Medical and Surgical ICU) to Crisis Resource Management (CRM) courses in the OR. We strive to create as a clinical environment that is as close as possible to real life situations.  Our mannequins listed below are some of the ones that we frequently use.

SimBaby

Sim Baby at Boston Children's HospitalLaerdal SimBaby is a full-body infant simulator with realistic heart sounds, breath sounds, palpable pulses, and sophisticated airway anatomy. It can be monitored, defibrillated and paced. Intravenous access can be gained. It cries and coos. The realism of the manikin allows clinicians to suspend disbelief in order to practice low-frequency, high-risk events; communication, teamwork and critical skills.

 

SimMan & SimMan 3G

Pediatric Simulator Program at Boston Children'sLaerdal SimMan & SimMan G are adult simulators with realistic heart sounds and breath sounds, palpable pulses, light reactive pupils and sophisticated airway anatomy. They can be monitored, shocked, paced, intubated and placed on a vent. Intravenous access can be gained.

 

METI PediaSim

Pediatric Simulator at Boston Children'sMETI PediaSim (HPS) PediaSim is a 7-year old, 20kg human patient simulator with sophisticated physiologic monitoring capability. He blinks, speaks, breaths, has heartsounds, breath sounds and palpable pulses.

 


 

 

SimJunior

Pediatric Simulator at Boston Children'sLaerdal SimJuniorTM is a full-body pediatric simulator with realistic heart sounds, breath sounds, palpable pulses, and sophisticated airway anatomy. It can be monitored and defibrillated. Intravenous access can be gained.
