For Patients and Families
When can I book my reservation?
We book reservations 4 nights or longer up to 3 months in advance. Reservations for stays fewer than 4 nights are only made 48 hours prior to your intended arrival date, based upon our availability.
When do I check-in?
Check-in for both houses is daily from 2pm-7pm.
*You will need to make alternate arrangements if you are unable to check in during these times.
When do I check-out?
Check-out for both houses is at 11am.
How many guests can stay in the room?
Our rooms accommodate a maximum of 1-4 guests depending on the size of the room. There will never be more than four guests allowed at one time (including the patient).
Do I need to stay in my room each night?
Yes. Our policy is that an approved guest must stay in the room each night. Due to the high demand for rooms, you must check-out if you will not be staying in your room.
Can I request more than one room?
No. Unfortunately we can only offer one room per patient (including the ICU Sleep Spaces) due to high need for affordable accommodations in the area.
Can I have an ICU Sleep Space in the hospital and a room at one of the Houses?
No. You may only have one room in either the ICU Sleep Spaces or the Houses.
Are pack & plays and/or cots provided?
Yes. Pack & plays and cots are available upon request.
Are linens and towels provided?
Yes. Linens and towels are provided to each guest.
Can I do laundry?
Yes. Laundry facilities (washer and dryer) are open for all guests to use as needed on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests are responsible for providing their own laundry detergent.
Is there a place to store my food?
Yes. There is a very small space (size of a shoebox) in the pantry, refrigerator and freezer for you to store food.
Where can I store my breastmilk or medications that need to be refrigerated?
We have breakmilk freezers and medication refrigerators for your use.
Is there parking?
No. There is no parking at either house. All parking is in the Boston Children's Hospital parking garage.
The Children's Garage is located at 298 Longwood Avenue, across from the hospital's Main Entrance. The garage is open 24 hours a day. The validated parking rate for families is $9/day.
Is there a shuttle to BCH?
There is no shuttle to the Yawkey Family Inn. However, between the hours of 11:50pm and 7:00am and on weekends a security escort is available.
The House on Autumn Street has a shuttle that runs Monday through Friday during business hours and is available by request after business hours. NEW: When leaving the hospital, families must specifically ask to stop at Autumn Street and must call if they'd like the shuttle to pick them up at Autumn Street.
