Arts Programming

Collaborating with Boston's diverse arts community, Children's offers unique programming in a variety of disciplines. Art activities on the units bring cheer to the bedside and playrooms on each floor. Creative, cultural experiences like these help to reduce stress, spark imagination, and offer a means of self expression.

Art Cart
The Child Life Art Specialist visits inpatient floors 3 days a week with a variety of creative projects to offer to the patients.

Artists-in-Residence
Ongoing projects by local artists that bring unique art experiences to patients and families. Current projects include creative writing and video art.

Guest Artist Visits
Special workshops by artists. Past events included Wheelchair Painting with quadriplegic artist Tommy Hollenstein, Electronic Music Composition with DJ Ryze, Mosaic with Bette Ann Libby, etc. Click here to visit our gallery page featuring photos of past workshops.

Artful Adventures
Monthly workshops with Museum of Fine Arts staff that offer hands-on cultural enrichment to Boston Children’s Hospital. Activities are inspired by the museum’s collection of art and objects.
