For Patients and Families
Angel Flight
Angel Flight NE is a non-profit organization that provides free airplane transportation to hospitals. This service is for patients and families whose financial resources do not permit them to travel by other means to get needed diagnostic or treatment services.
Area of Service
Angel Flight NE is available 24 hours a day and serves all six New England states, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and most of the eastern United States.
Our Patients
Referrals for Angel Flight NE come from patients, families of patients, hospitals, social service agencies and others. In addition to serving families in financial need, Angel Flight NE accepts requests from patients and families who are unable to use public transportation because of their medical condition, or who live in remote areas where public transportation is not available, as well as those with emergent needs. Patients must be medically stable and ambulatory. Flights will be provided as often as necessary. Angel Flight NE also will fly blood, organs, medical supplies and personnel.
Our Pilots
Angel Flight pilots are dedicated volunteers who donate their time and flying skills to help others. All are licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Our Planes
Angel Flight pilots own or rent airplanes. The aircraft range from single-engine, four-seaters to twin-engine, pressurized cabin-class aircrafts. By FAA regulation, every airplane is subject to an annual examination for airworthiness.
Funding
All of the flight expenses for a mission are paid by the pilot flying that mission. Additional funding is also received from corporate sponsors, organizations and individual contributions.
