Linda, Co-Chair

Why did you join TAC?
When I had surgery I saw the fun activities the volunteers and Child Life Specialists did. The activities made me happy and at that point I knew I wanted to give back to the hospital.

What is the best advice you have for teens in the hospital?
Stay positive and take advantage of the movies and activities. It makes the time go by faster.

Kate, Co-Chair

Why did you join TAC?
I saw a video about staying overnight in the hospital and I wanted to learn more about what it was or how I could help.

What is the best advice you have for teens in the hospital?
I think the best thing to think about if you are in the hospital is that there is always a rainbow after the rain and everything really does get better.

Anastasia

Why did you join TAC?
As a listener and an advisor, I believe that I can help a lot of teens through TAC.

What is the best advice you have for teens in the hospital?
Always keep in mind something that makes you happy, because a smile or a laugh really can make a bad day a lot better.

Annette

I wanted to become involved in something at the hospital and meet other teens who are also patients at Boston Children’s.

What is the best advice you have for teens in the hospital?
The best advice I have for teens in the hospital is to stay positive no matter what!

I wanted to become involved in TAC in order to help teens just like me and to give back to the hospital for the amazing care they give.

What is the best advice you have for teens in the hospital?
Stay positive and never give up! The people at BCH are here to support you and help you through whatever it is..

Esther

Why did you join TAC?
I joined TAC as a way to give back to Boston Children's and to be an advocate for other kids. Several doctors within the hospital have been so willing to go to bat for me and fight for me and I wanted to do that for others.

What is the best advice you have for teens in the hospital?
Be a self-advocate and find other advocates. You know yourself and your symptoms better than anyone else. I have found great advocates in my family, my doctors, and my school advisor.

Geraldine

Why did you join TAC?
I was looking for opportunities to help the community.

What is the best advice you have for teens in the hospital?
Stay positive and be determined on the future.

Helena

Why did you join TAC?
To be able to give back to the hospital.

What is the best advice you have for teens in the hospital?

We are grateful to have been ranked #1 on U.S. News & World Report's list of the best children's hospitals in the nation for the third year in a row, an honor we could not have achieved without the patients and families who inspire us to do our very best for them. Thanks to you, Boston Children's is a place where we can write the greatest children's stories ever told.”
